Brevard College has announced the selection of Tristan Cowie (Cycling) and the 1982 National Championship Men’s Cross Country team as the 2022 inductees into the Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame. Cowie and the 1982 Men’s Cross Country team will become the 44th and 45th inductees into the college’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
Brevard College placed a school-record 167 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 academic year.
BC’s 167 academic all-conference selections shatters the previous record of 129 set in 2020-21. Brevard is among the top-five schools in the USA South in total number of honorees, joining Piedmont University (215 honorees), Huntingdon College (199 honorees), Southern Virginia University (197 honorees), and Methodist University (158 honorees) in the top-five of USA South Conference institutions.

The Brevard College Department of Athletics hosted the 2021-22 BESPYs, the college’s annual Athletic Awards ceremony on Monday, April 25 at the Boshamer Gymnasium. It marked the first in-person BESPYs awards banquet since the Spring of 2019.

Brevard College inducted Jeff Wentworth (Cross Country/Track & Field) and the 2009 National Championship Cycling Team as the 2021 class of the Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at The Porter Center on October 9. Wentworth and the '09 Cycling team became the 42nd and 43rd inductees into the college's Athletics Hall of Fame.
The Brevard College men’s cross country team finished in sixth place out of 25 schools at the Royals Challenge held Friday afternoon at the McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The BC women’s team placed 21st out of 24 teams in the 5K race.
Noah Reisig has been named Assistant Athletic Trainer at Brevard College, announced Head Athletic Trainer Liz Kelley. Reisig, who begins his duties at BC immediately, will work specifically with the sports of Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field, and Volleyball.
The Brevard College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Queen City Invite on Friday evening in Charlotte, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte. Remarkably, all men’s racers set personal records while three on the women’s side set PR’s.
A grand total of 229 conference and national awards were handed out to Brevard College student-athletes for their achievements during the 2020-21 season. A total of 31 national awards were garnered by Tornado student-athletes this past season, including 11 national academic awards.
