Morgan Finishes Third to Pace Tornados at Charleston Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Brevard College Tornados cross country standout Gavin Morgan earned a third-place finish to lead BC at the Charleston Classic, hosted by The College of Charleston on Saturday morning in Charleston, S.C. 

Morgan, a sophomore hailing from Hayesville, N.C., adds to an impressive campaign that has seen him set multiple new personal bests as well as earn two selections as the USA South Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Morgan finished Saturday's race with a time of 27:03.85, which was just 35 seconds off the first-place finisher's time. 

Soloman Turner was next in line for the Tornados, as he finished with a 33rd-place finish with a final time of 32:45.35. Jesus Martinez (38th, 35:36.73), Dylan Freeman (42nd, 38:15.06), and Michael Fader (44th, 38:35) also competed for Brevard in the Charleston Classic. 

Next up for the Brevard College Tornados cross country teams is the USA South Conference Cross Country Championships, held on Saturday, November 2 in Rocky Mount, N.C.
