MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The Brevard College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed Friday at the USA South Conference held on the campus of Maryville College.

Prior to the championship races, Brevard College student-athletes George Dowis and Hannah Spear were each named to the USA South Conference Cross Country All-Sportsmanship Team.  
 
The Brevard Men's Cross Country team placed eighth out of 12 teams in the conference championship.  Gavin Morgan (29:10) was the top finishing Tornado with a 28th place finish out of 94 runners in the 8K race.  Michael Anton was the second fastest BC runner with a time of 30:13 to finish 43rd.
 
Dowis (32:18, 58th), Benjamin Skidmore (32:21, 60th) and Hudson New (34:23, 69th) also placed for the Tornados to secure the eighth-place finish for Brevard.
 
On the women's side, Spear ran the 6K race in 30:13, good for a 60th place finish.  Caitlyn Cloud-Morton (39:32, 87th) raced as well for Brevard.
