Brevard Cross Country Competes in the Maryville College Invitational

MARYVILLE TENN. - The Brevard College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed Saturday at the Maryville College Invitational hosted by Wingate University. 

The Brevard men's team finished fifth out of six teams in the event. 
 
Individually, Gavin Morgan led the way for the Tornados with a 16th place finish out of 67 total runners.  Morgan ran the 8K race in a time of 28:52.
 
BC's Hudson New finished 43rd with an 8K time of 32:54. George Dowis (44th, 33:02) and Benjamin Skidmore (45th, 34:16) finished just behind New.  Gabriel Covington (60th, 37:14) rounded out the Tornado finishers.
 
On the women's side, three Tornado runners competed in the 6K event. Hannah Spear was the fastest Tornado with a time of 29:03, good for a 36th place finish.
 
Molly Brown ran a 32:05 to finish in 58th place. Emilie Abbott (66th, 37:10) also competed for the Tornados
 
The Brevard College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams return to action on Saturday, October 6 at the Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C.
