Kiprono Notches Second Top 10 of Season at Piedmont Invitational

TALLULAH FALLS, Ga.
– Brevard's Hassan Kiprono posted his second top 10 outing of the season when he finished seventh at the Piedmont Invitational on Saturday morning.

Kiprono finished the course in a time of 27:53.27, edging out Joey Teachout (Anderson) for his best finish this season.

Sophomore Michael Anton also had a solid outing for the Tornados, crossing the line in 15th in a time of 28:45.48. He was followed by teammates Jose Bravini (32:37.40; 33rd), Dal Davis (40:31.98' 59) and Michael Terry (42:15.86).

Brevard capped off the event by finishing seventh as a team with an average pace of 34:24.80, while the overall team title went to Anderson in a pace of 27:26.71.

The individual men's title went to Anderson's Mason Hazel, who edged teammate Weston Hutton by 0.20 seconds in a time of 27:08.64.

Kaitlin Chaump paced the Brevard women's team with a time of 28:00.94, finishing in 35th. Molly Brown followed her teammate just over two minutes later (30:29.20), in 44th, ahead of teammate Mary Gray Davis who came in 52nd in a time of 33:00.60.

The team concludes its season at the end of October at the USA South Championships.
