Six Brevard student-athletes were selected to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team for their respective sports in the fall 2017 season. Among them included Anton Borjesson (men’s soccer), Bubba Craven (football), Mary Gray Davis (women’s cross country), Hannah Elmore (volleyball), Ashley Hughes (women’s soccer) and Hassan Kiprono (men’s cross country).
Brevard’s Hassan Kiprono, competing in the final cross country race of his collegiate career, crossed the line fifth in a time of 27:12.76 at the USA South Championships on Saturday afternoon which took place at the Tallulah Falls School course.

After a two break in the action, the Brevard College cross country team returns to the course this weekend when it competes in the Maryville Invitational held on the Scots’ campus.
Hassan Kiprono posted a time of 26:40.70 to lead the way for the Brevard cross country team in the men?s 8k race on Saturday morning in the Furman Invitational held on the Furman Golf Course.
The Tornados are one of 21 collegiate teams featured in the event along with regional opponents Anderson, Clemson, Converse, Erskine, Mercer, North Greenville and host Furman.
Senior Hassan Kiprono led the way for the Tornados with an eighth place showing, crossing the finish line in a time of 16:30.0. Michael Anton followed just over a minute later, placing 23rd in a time of 17:52.5.
The Brevard College cross country team will head to Greeneville, Tenn., on Friday to compete in the Tusculum Open at the Holston Homes Course with the start time set for 6 p.m.
