Tornados Drop 3-Setter to Lions

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Brevard College Volleyball team travelled to Georgia for a USA South Match at conference foe Piedmont.  The Tornados (0-17, 0-8) dropped the match in three sets to the Lions (8-8, 5-3).

Piedmont took a 2-0 lead in sets with a 25-20 win in set number one followed by a 25-16 victory in set two.

The Tornados played the Lions very tough in the third set. BC led the set at several junctures and had the set tied at 22-22.  However, Piedmont scored the match's three final points to clinch the straight-set win.

Sydney Fox recorded five kills and a service ace to lead the Tornados' offense.  Mariana Rodriguez was the team's leader in digs with 16 with Jordan Lloyd right behind her with 15 digs.  Setter Hannah Gordon, with 14 assists, continued to put her teammates in advantageous positions.  In addition to Fox, Rodriguez, Lloyd, and Hannah Jenkins each registered service aces as well

Brevard returns to action at home with a match vs. Huntingdon at noon followed by a match vs. Berea at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
