Tornados Drop USA South Matchup at Agnes Scott

MACON, Ga. – The Brevard College Volleyball squad (0-15, 0-6 USA South) fell to Agnes Scott (3-14, 1-4 USA South) on Tuesday afternoon in USA South Conference action in straight sets, 3-0 (15-25, 22-25, 18-25).

Brevard opened up the first set with a kill by freshman Brook Groves. BC played to a 3-3 tie before the Scotties pulled away.

The Tornados stormed out in the second set with a service ace by freshman Mariana Rodriguez. BC fell behind early 8-3 before climbing back and taking the lead behind two kills from Jordan Lloyd. Brevard led by as much as a 20-16 margin late in the second set before falling 25-22.

BC clung to an early third set lead, holding it by an 8-7 margin midway through the third set. The Tornados came close to retaking their advantage, slimming Agnes Scott's lead to 12-11. However, that would be as close as Brevard would come, as they fell 25-18 in the final stanza.

Sydney Fox and Jordan Lloyd led the way for the BC attack as they drove home eight kills each. Hannah Gordon continued her impressive set work, distributing 27 assists on the afternoon. Gordon now has 223 assists in 2018.

Brevard returns to action this Saturday, October 6 as they host the Covenant Scots in USA South Conference action. The match is set to commence at 2 p.m. at Boshamer Gymnasium.
