Hard fought match goes to Cavaliers 3-0 in straight sets

Montreat, N.C. - The Brevard Tornados Women's Volleyball team returned to North Carolina after a weekend at the Rhodes College Invitational. Brevard (0-5) faced the NAIA's Montreat Cavaliers, falling in three sets. 

The first two sets of this contest were back and forth the entire way, with Montreat pulling out wins in set 1 & 2 both by a 25-23 margin. Sydney Fox and Jordan Lloyd led the attack for Brevard, driving home 7 kills apiece, leading the team. Hannah Gordon turned in another impressive assist performance, tallying 16 on the night. Mariana Rodriguez and Jordan Lloyd both reached double-digit dig totals, tallying 14 & 11 respectively. 

After battling hard for the first two sets, Montreat was able to pull away with the victory in the third set by a margin of 25-13.  

Your Tornados will be back in action with a weekend full of matches. Brevard will host the Tornado Challenge at Boshamer Gym on Friday, before moving to the Xcel Sportsplex in Hendersonville, N.C. on Saturday. Fans are encouraged to come and support the Tornados for their home tournament. Admission is $5 for all matches on Saturday.
