Piedmont Clinches Women's Victory vs. Brevard on Friday

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (1-3, 1-2 USAS) dropped a USA South Conference match on a rainy Friday afternoon, as the Tornados fell to Piedmont College (7-4, 3-0 USAS) at the McCoy Tennis Complex. 
 
The Lions clinched the victory by winning all three doubles matches followed by four singles contests. Two singles matches were unfinished at press time, and will be completed on Saturday morning prior to the two team's non-conference contest. 
 
Piedmont was able to cruise to all three doubles victories, as BC's number-two duo of Lily Farr and Hamrick Perry registering Brevard's lone game point. 
 
Brevard senior Jen Cox battled  Kara Landsiedel in number-three singles, falling by Brevard's closest margin, 6-2, 6-3. Fellow senior Margaret Correll and sophomore Alli Kogoy were also able to capture game points vs. their opponents. 
 
The Tornados and Lions are slated to meet in a non-conference contest scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. inside the McCoy Tennis Complex on the campus of Brevard College.
