BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (1-0, 1-0 USAS) heads to Montgomery, Alabama for its first road trip this season at Huntingdon College (4-3, 2-0 USAS) in Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday and Sunday. The Tornados are scheduled for a conference dual match on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT, with a non-conference matchup set for Sunday at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT.

BC earned its first conference win in the team's season-opener against Berea College. The Tornados jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play with an 8-0 win by the number one doubles team comprised of seniors Jen Cox and Margaret Correll.  The number-three doubles team of Brooke Garland and Alli Kogoy also did not allow a game to their opponent in an 8-0 victory for BC. Lilly Farr and Sarah Iocovozzi combined for an 8-1 win in number two doubles to give the Tornados the 3-0 doubles sweep.

Correll (no. 4 singles) and Iocovozzi (no. 5 singles) each blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 to propel BC to a 5-0 team advantage. Farr (no. 1), Cox (no. 2), Hamrick Perry (no. 3) and Mekenzie Bowman (no. 6) all won their singles matches in straight sets as well.

In total, Brevard outscored Berea 96-10 in games, while not dropping a set, to cruise to the team's season-opening victory.

The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have agreed to adjust the Conference's policy on spectators attending any outdoor sporting event hosted by a USA South institution regardless of opponent.

The amended policy limits spectators to two per participating student-athlete, plus students, faculty and staff of the host institution while abiding with all local and state social distancing and capacity directives. No spectators of visiting teams will be permitted to attend. This adjusted policy went into effect for all events beginning on Friday, February 26th.
