LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Tennis team (12-4, 6-0 USAS) matched the longest winning streak in the program's NCAA-era history (2008-09, 10 matches) by claiming its 10th-consecutive victory on Friday afternoon. The Tornados defeated the LaGrange Panthers (5-7, 2-4 USAS), 6-3, in LaGrange, Georgia.

Brevard improved to an undefeated 6-0 mark in USA South Conference play.

The Tornados took two doubles matches followed by four singles victories to earn six points total.

Brevard's no. 1 doubles duo of Samantha Sepe and Kelsey Kushner cruised to their ninth victory as a pairing this season, claiming an 8-1 decision at the top line.

Doubles no. 2 and 3 both came down to the wire, as each match was decided via tiebreaker. Margaret Correll and Mekenzie Bowman teamed up for a slim 8-7 victory in no. 3 doubles, winning 7-4 in the match tiebreaker. Darden King and Jen Cox battled, but narrowly fell in the number-two slot, 7-8, to LaGrange's Ansley Moody and Calloway Cook. The Panthers' pairing took the tiebreaker, 7-5, for the match victory.

Both Sepe (no. 1) and Kushner (no. 2) glided through their singles matches to extend BC's advantage to 4-1 in the match. LaGrange's Moody claimed the number-three singles match, drawing the Panthers closer, 4-2.

Correll clinched BC's 10th-straight victory with a 6-2, 6-3 victory in no. 5 singles over LaGrange's Carli Jones.

Freshman Eleanor Flannery claimed her 12th singles victory of the 2018-19 season with a controlling 6-2, 6-0 final at the number-six line for the Tornados.

BC concludes its two-match road trip with a pivotal USA South matchup in Montgomery, Alabama against the Huntingdon College Hawks (10-3, 5-1 USAS) tomorrow. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
