Kelsey Kushner Picks Up Singles Victory at Piedmont College

DEMOREST, Ga. - Junior Kelsey Kushner picked up a close No. 2 singles victory as the Brevard College Tornados Women's Tennis team (2-4) fell 8-1 to the Piedmont College Lions (1-0) on Monday afternoon. 

In a lengthy match that took over three hours, Kushner came from behind to defeat Piedmont's Morgan Buchholz, 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 in a thrilling match. 

Another long match took place in the No. 1 spot, as Samantha Sepe narrowly fell to Caroline Connelly, 6-4, 3-6, 10-2. The lengthy affair lasted three-and-a-half hours. 

In the No. 1 doubles match, the duo of Sepe and Kushner were upended by Buchholz and Megan Waldheim in a tight, 9-7 final. 

Piedmont claimed the 8-1 victory as the BC Women's Tennis team came off of a 7-2 victory over Meredith College just 24 hours earlier. 

The Tornados return to action this weekend as they head to Misenheimer, N.C. to face the Pfeiffer University Falcons on Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
