CENTRAL, S.C. - Freshman Eleanor Flannery picked up both victories for Brevard College Women's Tennis (1-3) in its spring season opener at Southern Wesleyan. The Tornados fell by a final of 6-1 at the NCAA DII institution.

Flannery continued to build on her strong fall season, picking up victories in both singles and doubles competition.

The pairing of Flannery and Margaret Correll defeated SWU's Caitlynn Nixon and Zoe Stanley 6-2 to open action up on Saturday afternoon, which was the inaugural victory for the duo of Flannery and Correll.

The duo of Darden King and Jennifer Cox fell 2-6 in the next doubles match, followed by the pairing of Samantha Sepe and Kelsey Kushner, who dropped a tight 4-6 decision to SWU's duo of Jennifer Ball and Chyna Jones.

Over on the singles side, Sepe fell again in very tight fashion to the Warrior's Ball in two sets, 5-7, 2-6.

Flannery picked up the lone singles victory for the Tornados, claiming an 8-0 decision over SWU's Stanley. Flannery remains undefeated as a collegiate in singles competition, dating back to the fall season with a 4-0 record.

The Tornados will return to action on Saturday, February 23 when they travel to Demorest, Georgia for a match against Piedmont at 1 p.m.
