Hawks Scream Past Tornados

BREVARD, N.C. –
The Huntingdon women's tennis team completed the season sweep of the Tornados as it earned a 9-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks swept their way through the doubles matches, earning three points along the way, beginning when Heather Tabor and Caroline McBroom downed Margaret Correll and Mekenzie Bowman 8-0. Zoya Robinson and Josie Waddell completed an 8-0 triumph over Kelsey Kushner and Jen Cox in the clash of No. 1 doubles.

Kacy Howard and Clayton Waring duplicated the efforts of their teammates, garnering an 8-0 win over the duo of Hannah Spear and Carmen Boone.

Kacey Stephens collected her first win of the day as she earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Christiana Beltran in the clash of six seeds. McBroom followed with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Correll to cinch Huntingdon's team win.

Robinson added her second win of the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph against Cox, quickly followed by a 6-2, 6-3 win by Lacy Burch in her match with Spear.

The Hawks completed the victory as Waring earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Boone, while Waddell triumphed 6-4, 6-2 versus Kushner.
