Tennis Squads Set for Two Matches this Weekend

BREVARD, N.C.- Both men's and women's tennis teams will host LaGrange on Friday at 1 p.m., then will take on Huntingdon at the Brevard tennis courts on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.

Brevard's women's tennis team (4-8) recorded their first multi-match winning streak since March of 2014, with a 6-3 team win over Maryville on Wednesday afternoon. Kelsey Kushner, Margaret Correll and Carmen Boone each picked up singles victories, while the doubles combination of Jen Cox and Kushner helped secure the team win.

In the team's two match winning streak, Kushner, Cox and Boone have each won both of their matches, while the combination of Kushner and Cox won their doubles matches each by a score of 8-3.

LaGrange (8-7) is currently riding a three-match winning streak, picking up wins over Albany State (Ga.), Maryville and Berea along the way.

Huntingdon (13-1) currently boasts the best overall record in the USA South Conference, and is on an eight-match winning streak with their last loss coming against Millsaps on March 4.
