Tornados Look to Avenge Recent Setback to Agnes Scott on Tuesday

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard women's tennis team looks to avenge its recent setback, which came to Agnes Scott on Saturday, when the two units square off on Tuesday, March 20.

The match, originally set to begin at 2:30 p.m., has been moved to 11:30 a.m. with the threat of rain in the area.

Brevard's suffered a 9-0 setback to Agnes Scott in Decatur, Ga., on Saturday afternoon.

The Scotties earned the first three points of the match in double competition as Lizzy Engsberg and Taylor Lee downed the duo of Kelsey Kushner and Jen Cox by a 9-7 score. Anastasia Bennett and Camille Wilson followed with an 8-2 triumph over Margaret Correll and Mekenzie Bowman.

Agnes Scott completed the doubles sweep with a Jasmine Keiler and Felicia Jacques win over the tandem of Carmen Boone and Christiana Beltran by an 8-1 margin.

Engsberg added her second win of the afternoon in a clash of No. 1 seeds with Kushner by a 6-4, 6-0 margin. Lee notched her second win after a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Cox as the No. 2 seeds meet.

Bennett stretched the Scotties advantage to 6-0 after claiming a 6-0, 6-1 win against Correll. That win was followed by Wilson's 6-3, 6-3 victory against Bowman.

Keiler emerged with a 6-0, 6-1 win in a battle of No. 5 seeds with Boone, while Jacy Pippin completed the sweep for the Scotties with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Beltran.
