Brevard Set to Host Maryville

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard men's and women's tennis squads will host Maryville in a mid-week clash that will begin at 2:30 p.m. on the Brevard Tennis Courts.

Brevard women's tennis will play their first match since Feb. 27th, when the doubles combination of Mekenzie Bowman and Margaret Correll beat Mattie Wood and Maureen Truett of Piedmont 8-5. Piedmont still came out on top on the afternoon 8-1 as a team. Maryville's women's team is 2-4 on the season, with their two team wins coming against Ohio Christian and Montreat.

In the men's team's last outing on March 10th, the top three Tornados Tom MittringTim Hengst and Will Christiansen each picked up singles wins against Covenant. However, the Scots were able to pick up the 6-3 team victory at the Asheville Racquet Club.

Maryville's men's team comes into the match 1-5 on the season, with their lone win coming against Ohio Christian on March 10th. Daniel Silva has held down the number one singles position for the Scots, and picked up the 6-0, 6-0 victory against Colin Dorman of Ohio Christian.
