Tornados Drop Road Contest to Falcons

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Brevard College Tornados Women's Soccer team (9-7) fell on the road in non-conference action on Wednesday night to the Pfeiffer Falcons (11-2). The match marked the final road contest for the Tornados in 2018.

Pfeiffer controlled the attack for most of the contest. The Falcons outshot the Tornados by a 23-1 margin, including a 14-1 shots-on-target advantage. Pfeiffer managed to hold a 15-0 shot advantage through the first half.

The Falcons took a 3-0 lead into the intermission after Cayci Eaton scored two goals in the first stanza. Madeline Capel added a third Pfeiffer goal in the 42nd-minute, placing an Allison Gonzales pass past starting BC goalkeeper Hannah Weatherall.

Pfeiffer kept the pressure on in the second period. Dayanna Riera, Mackenzie Pruitt, and Gonzalez each scored unassisted goals to give the Falcons a 6-0 advantage that they wouldn't relinquish.

Weatherall (3-4) recorded eight saves on 14 shots faced, including six saves in the first half. BC freshman Brenna Innis recorded the lone shot-on-goal for the Tornados in the match.
