Brevard Falls to Maryville in USA South Action

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Brevard College Tornados Women's Soccer team (9-6, 5-3) dropped a USA South Conference matchup to the Maryville Scots (10-5, 7-0). The matchup marked the final USA South Conference game for Brevard in 2018.

Maryville continued its unbeaten streak in conference play behind two goals from Bailey Sipos. Sipos, who has 13 goals in 2018, is now tied with BC's Ashley Hughes for second place on the conference goals scored leaderboard.   

The Scots controlled the attack for the majority of this match, outshooting Brevard by a 23-7 margin. The Tornados only managed to strike one shot-on-goal, their lowest total of the season.

Goalkeeper Hannah Weatherall (3-3) managed five saves on the night. Weatherall now has tallied 34 saves on the season.

Maryville's Emilie Guigou sent in her first goal of 2018 in the 70th minute to bring the Scot's lead to a commanding 3-0.

In addition to outshooting Brevard, Maryville also held a 7-0 corner kick advantage.

Brevard's Megan Shina led the attack, taking three shots on the night.

The Tornados return to action on Oct. 24 as they travel to Misenheimer, N.C. for a road test with Pfeiffer. First touch is set for 5 p.m.

SENIOR DAY: The Brevard College Tornados Women's Soccer team returns home to Ives-Lemel field one final time, facing Regent University on Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. Seniors Ashley Hughes, Caroline David, Elise Youmans, Lane Berchtold, and Megan Shina will be honored.
