Brevard set to take on Warren Wilson in final match of the season

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard women's soccer will clash with Warren Wilson at home Tuesday night in the final match of the year.

The Tornados (10-6-1) head into the match coming off their first draw of the year, a 2-2 decision to Shaw on a rainy Saturday afternoon. In the match, Sydney Alencewicz scored a goal on a free kick outside the right side of the box, while Ashley Hughes scored her third goal of 2017. 

On the season Brevard has scored 32 goals, which is their highest number of goals scored since the program moved to the NCAA ranks in 2008. The offense is also well-balanced, as 14 different players have recorded at least one point this season. Junior Megan Shina leads the team with 23 total points (11 goals, one assist). Defensively, the Tornados have shut out their opponents seven times this year, and have only allowed 1.16 goals per match.

Warren Wilson heads into the match 4-6-1 on the season and riding a two-match winning streak. The Owls are led on offense by Sierra Bell, with five total points on the season (one goal, three assists).

The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Field.
