Brevard prepares for another back-to-back weekend series

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard women's soccer goes on the road Saturday afternoon to take on Berea at 2 p.m., then will return home to host Wesleyan Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

The Tornados (8-6) are heading into the weekend coming off a 2-0 setback to Piedmont October 18th, a match where Brevard went into halftime tied with the team with the best record in the USA South Conference, before the Lions scored two goals in the second half to earn the victory.

Brevard will look to get back to playing stout defense and a well-balanced offense as they head into the weekend against Berea (1-12) and Wesleyan (6-6-1). In their eight wins this season, Brevard has averaged 2.63 goals per match while allowing only 0.50 goals per match in those wins.

Berea heads into the match against Brevard on a five-match losing streak, with their most recent match resulting in a 8-0 loss to Piedmont on October 15th. The Scots are led on offense by Madilyn Hord, who is tied for the team lead in points (two) and second on the team in shots (12). Defensively, goalkeeper Amber Follin leads the USA South Conference with 121 saves.

The match against Wesleyan was originally scheduled on October 8th, but was postponed to October 22nd due to inclement weather. Wesleyan enters the match coming off a 2-1 win over LaGrange on October 18th, and like Brevard, the Wolves will be playing their second match of the weekend (October 21st at Covenant). The Wolves are led on offense by Katie Tanner with 19 points (nine goals, one assist) on the season.
