Brevard shuts out Agnes Scott 4-0

BREVARD, N.C.- After being shut out for the first half, Brevard's offense caught fire in the second half to knock off Agnes Scott 4-0.

Brevard (7-4) scored a trio of goals all within three minutes of each other to start the second half, en route to scoring a season-high four goals on the day.

Freshman goalkeeper Hannah Weatherall earned her first start of the season, and came away victorious thanks to a solid defensive performance by the Tornados.

While outshooting Agnes Scott (1-10-1) in the first half, Brevard could not capitalize on their offensive opportunities as both teams went into the half locked in at zero.

Kathleen Gant broke the tie in the 50th minute, as she gave Brevard the spark on offense to start the second half.

Less than a minute later, Megan Shina scored on an assist from Gant to make the score 2-0.

In the 53rd minute, Kassidy Hunsaker found the back of the net on an assist from Caroline David to increase Brevard's lead to three goals.

The fourth goal of the match came in the 79th minute off of an own goal by the Scotties to make the score 4-0.

Brevard finished the game holding the shooting edge (17-12) and committing less fouls than Agnes Scott.

The Tornados will be back in action tomorrow at home against Wesleyan.
