Brevard looks to bounce back against Covenant

BREVARD, N.C.- After their first setback in four matches, the Brevard women's soccer team returns to action September 30 on the road against Covenant.

Brevard comes into the match 5-3 and will face off against a Covenant team with an identical record on the 2017 season. The Scots previous match was a 1-0 victory over Agnes-Scott, a team Brevard beat on September 20 2-0.

The Tornados will look to continue to generate offense from their top two point scorers on the season, Megan Shina (12 points) and Sydney Alencewicz (seven). The two have led an offense that has not been shut out this season.

On the defensive end Brevard is limiting their opponents to 11.6 shots/per match, while allowing just 1.38 goals/per match.

Brevard will look to contain Addy Cronan who leads the Scots with 13 points on the season, coming from five goals and three assists. Covenant is also stout on the defensive end, as junior goalkeeper Rachel Lemay ranks fifth in the USA South Conference with 0.77 goals allowed per match.

This will be the first match between the two schools since Brevard joined the NCAA ranks in 2008.
