Brevard's winning streak comes to an end as they fall to Maryville

BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard women's soccer team experiences their first setback since September 13, as their three-game winning streak comes to an end against Maryville 3-1.

A pair of second-half goals by Maryville proved to be the difference, after the score was tied at one at halftime.

The scoring began in the 35th minute as Sydney Alencewicz fired a strike from outside the box off an assist from Kassidy Hunsaker.

Two minutes later the Scots tied the game from a goal by Shannon Reagan, her first of two goals on the night.

In the second half, Reagan gave Maryville the lead as she found the back of the net in the 57th minute, scoring her eigth goal of the season. Freshman Bailey Sipos contributed on both of Reagan's goals on the night.

Maryville's Hannah Clothier scored in the 81st minute, giving the Scots the 3-1 advantage.

Brevard (5-3-0) will return to action on September 30 as they will travel to Lookout Mountain, Ga. to take on Covenant.
