Women's Lacrosse Named to 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad

Brevard, NC. – The Brevard College Women's Lacrosse Team was named to the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads Monday afternoon. Additionally, Kelly Kearnan and Hunter Denney were named to Division III Academic Honor Roll.

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has named 313 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as Honor Squads for the 2017-18 academic year. For a team to qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have earned a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year. During the 2017-18 school year, the Tornados finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.13.

Kelly Kearnan and Hunter Denny were two of 598 student-athletes from 179 Division III institutions to be named to the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. Kearnan graduated in the spring as a Business and Organizational Leadership major with a double minor in Criminal Justice and English. Denny is a rising senior and a double major in Health Science and Mathematics.
