  • Brevard College Athletics Announces Inaugural BC Athletics Tornado Club Auction

    The Brevard College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce its inaugural BC Athletics Tornado Club Auction. The online silent auction was made available on Monday, August 1 at 8 a.m. and runs until Wednesday, August 21 at 8 a.m., the date of the 11th annual BC Tornados Open held at the Lake Toxaway Country Club. 
  • BC Named IWLCA Honor Squad; Four Tornados Earn Honor Roll

    For the second straight season, the Brevard College Women’s Lacrosse team has been named an IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association) Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad. In addition, four BC Women’s Lacrosse student-athletes – Hunter Denney, Diana Loaiza, Cameron Ranslow and Micaiah Vacchiano – have been named to the IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll.
  • 91 Brevard College Student-Athletes Named USA South Academic All-Conference

    The USA South Conference on Friday morning released its annual USA South Academic All-Conference list, selecting 91 Brevard College student-athletes as Academic All-Conference selections. Additionally, 18 student-athletes collected “With Distinction” Academic All-Conference honors, accruing at least a 3.9 grade point average in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Katherine Collins Earns Spot on USA South Women’s Lacrosse All-Sportsmanship Team

    The USA South Conference on Wednesday morning announced its 2019 Women’s Lacrosse postseason honors, selecting Brevard College freshman goalkeeper Katherine Collins as BC’s representative on the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.  Collins, a freshman from Marietta, Ga., started all 16 matches for the Tornados in 2019, tallying 107 saves in 960 minutes played. 
  • Cougars Cruise Past Tornados in Season-Finale

    The Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse team (6-10, 3-8 USAS) fell to the Averett University Cougars (13-4, 9-2 USAS) by a final of 22-3 on Friday morning in Danville, Virginia.  The Cougars took control early and never looked back, leading the contest from beginning to end. Averett scored 16 unanswered goals in the first half before outscoring Brevard 6-3 in the second half.  As a team, Brevard snagged eight ground balls while controlling six draw controls. Seniors Jezika Gunter and Hunter Denney each scored goals to conclude their careers with the Tornados. Gunter scored twice for Brevard, while Denney added one goal. 
  • Women’s Lacrosse Honors Three Seniors in Home-Finale against William Peace

    Senior student-athletes Hunter Denney, Jezika Gunter, and Kaylee McRae were honored before the Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse team (6-9, 3-7 USAS) took on the William Peace Pacers (9-5, 7-5 USAS) in Brevard’s final home contest of 2019 on Thursday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The Pacers used a big first half to pull away from the Tornados, 17-6, for the USA South victory.  Micaiah Vacchiano, Brevard’s leading scorer in 2019, added four goals to her season total on Thursday evening. Hannah Scharf, along with Denney, added a goal each for BC. 
  • USA South Leading Meredith Tops Tornados

    The Brevard College Women's Lacrosse team (6-8, 3-6 USAS) dropped a contest to USA South Conference-leading Meredith College (13-4, 9-0 USAS) on Saturday at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The Tornados scored two goals against the formidable Avenging Angels, as Micaiah Vacchiano and Hannah Scharf each found the back of the net. Vacchiano scored just six minutes into the game on an unassisted strike to put the Tornados on the board. It marked the team-best 35th goal and 38th point of the season for the junior from Sebastian, Florida.
  • Brevard Drops USA South Contest to Methodist

    The Brevard College Women's Lacrosse team (6-7, 3-5 USAS) fell 17-3 to USA South opponent Methodist (3-7, 2-5 USAS) on Saturday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The Tornados scored three goals with Jezika Gunter, Micaiah Vacchiano and Hunter Denney each finding the back of the net.  BC goalkeeper Katherine Collins registered nine saves.
  • Battling Bishops Sink Tornados with Late Scoring Run

    The Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse team (6-6, 3-4 USAS) dropped a close match late to the N.C. Wesleyan Battling Bishops (1-10, 1-4 USAS) by a final score of 11-8 on Sunday afternoon in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Battling Bishops scored six-straight goals in the second half to ultimately down the Tornados in the USA South Conference contest.
  • Pride Pull Away Late to Down Tornados Women’s Lacrosse

    he Greensboro Pride (3-6, 3-3 USAS) used four-straight goals in the last eleven minutes of regulation to claim a 12-9 USA South Conference victory over the Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse Team (6-5, 3-3 USAS) on Saturday afternoon.  Micaiah Vacchiano and Nicole O’Connor each recorded three goals apiece. O’Connor’s three-goal performance marked a new career-high for the junior defender. Hunter Denney added two goals and an assist, while Hannah Scharf scored one goal for the Tornados. 
  • Piedmont’s Big Second Half Downs Brevard in Conference Battle

    The Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse Team (6-4, 3-2 USAS) fell by a final score of 15-5 to USA South foe Piedmont College (5-5, 4-1 USAS) on Wednesday evening in at the Walker Athletic Complex in Demorest, Georgia. Micaiah Vacchiano, BC’s leading goal-scorer in 2019, led the way for the Tornados with four goals. Jezika Gunter added a goal, while Hannah Scharf, Hunter Denney, and Cameron Ranslow posted assists in the contest. 
  • USA South Picks Katherine Collins as Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

    Brevard College Women’s Lacrosse freshman Katherine Collins has been selected as the USA South Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Tornados to an undefeated 2-0 weekend on the road at USA South competition. The Marietta, Georgia freshman goalkeeper collected two wins over USA South opposition last week by collecting 16 saves and eight ground balls. In a 10-8 win over LaGrange, Collins totaled seven saves and one ground ball. In a 7-6 victory over Huntingdon, Collins stopped nine shots and grabbed seven ground balls.
  • Brevard Holds off Huntingdon for Third-Straight Victory

    The Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse team (6-3, 3-1 USAS) picked up its third-straight USA South Conference victory with a tight, 7-6 final at Huntingdon College (1-7, 0-4 USAS) on Sunday afternoon. Senior midfielder Hunter Denney tallied three goals alongside Micaiah Vacchiano, who tallied a pair. Freshman Hannah Scharf added a goal and an assist, while Jezika Gunter scored one goal.
  • Women’s Lacrosse Withstands Late LaGrange Rally to Earn Conference Triumph, 10-8

    Micaiah Vacchiano tallied a game-high five goals as the Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse team (5-3, 2-1 USAS) picked up its second USA South Conference victory with a 10-8 victory at LaGrange College (0-3, 0-3 USAS) on Saturday afternoon. 
  • Women’s Lacrosse Holds Off Salem for First Conference Victory

    Jezika Gunter and Hunter Denney each tallied hat tricks, while Micaiah Vacchiano added two goals as the Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse Team (4-3, 1-1 USAS) earned its first USA South Conference victory, 10-5, over the Salem College Spirits (1-5, 0-3 USAS) at Ives-Leme Family Field on Sunday afternoon.
  • Pfeiffer Takes Conference-Opener from Brevard, 16-4

    The Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse Team (3-3, 0-1 USAS) opened its 2019 USA South Conference slate at Ives-Lemel Field on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Pfeiffer Falcons (2-0, 1-0 USAS) by a final score of 16-4.  Pfeiffer earned its second win of the season, while Brevard dropped its third-straight contest.
  • Second-Half Surge Pushes Davis & Elkins Past Brevard

    The Brevard College Tornados (3-2) returned home for the first time since February 9, falling to NCAA Division II opponent Davis & Elkins (2-1) in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Field by a final of 16-8.
  • Nationally-Ranked Reinhardt Blanks Brevard in Georgia

    The Reinhardt Eagles (3-1), who are the seventh-ranked NAIA Women’s Lacrosse team, defeated the Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse team (3-1) by a final of 20-0 on Wednesday evening.

    Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse freshman Hannah Scharf has been selected as the USA South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week. The distinction marks BC Women’s Lacrosse’s first Athlete of the Week honor by the USA South.

    The Brevard College Tornados Women’s Lacrosse team, led by fourth-year Head Coach Kristin Rosato and second-year Assistant Coach Tempestt Smith, were selected to finish seventh in the USA South on Wednesday afternoon after garnering 60 points in the poll.
