Tornados Set to Take on Salem

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard women's lacrosse team returns to the field on Wednesday afternoon when it heads to Salem for a 4 p.m. clash with the Spirits.

Brevard (0-4) is looking to close out February with its first win of the season when it takes on a Salem squad that is in its first year of play. The Tornados are averaging 7.5 goals per contest and 19.5 shots per game in the first four games of the season.

Individually, Brevard is led by the tandem of Nina Siu (11 goals) and Victoria Hayes (10), who have amassed 15 and 11 points, respectively. Defensively, the Tornados are led by Shelby Arsenault (10 ground balls), while Siu and Kelly Kearnan have six apiece.

After opening the season with five goals against St. Andrews (Feb. 16) the Spirits combined for three in a pair of setbacks to Methodist (Feb. 20) and LaGrange (Feb. 24). In its last out, Salem tallied six goals in a 16-6 loss at Huntingdon on Feb. 25.
