Women’s Golf Concludes at Cherokee Valley Invitational

CHEROKEE VALLEY INVITATIONAL RESULTS

TIGERVILLE, S.C. –
The Brevard women's golf team concluded its 2018 season on Tuesday afternoon at the Cherokee Valley Invitational held in Tigerville, S.C.

The Tornados, which sent Kelsie Rhyne and Taylor Scovel to compete, did not participate with enough individuals to compete as a team.

Rhyne closed out her senior season by tying Rachel Huber (North Greenville) for 50th after rounds of 94 and 93 as she finished 43-over-par. Rhyne (187) competed in seven events over the course of the season, earning three top 20 finishes at the Mars Hill Spring Invite (fifth), Tusculum Invite (10th) and Cavalier Spring Invitational (t-13th).

Scovel was the top finisher for the Tornados on over the weekend, capping off the event in a three-way tie for 30th alongside Emily Anderson (Southern Wesleyan) and Sydney Fairchild (Montreat).

Scovel, who posted scores of 86 and 89 at the Cherokee Valley Country Club course, wrapped up the slate with four top 30 finishes in 2017-18. They came at the Cavalier Spring Invitational (t-17th), Mars Hill Spring Invite (t-20th), Tusculum Invite (24th) and her 30th place finish in Tigerville.
