Tornado Women Return to Links Monday

BREVARD, N.C. – After a two-week layoff since their last tournament, the Brevard women's golf team returns to the links on Monday when it competes in the Wingate Challenge on March 19-20.

The Tornados, who have competed in three tournaments so far this spring, will trek to Monroe, N.C., to play at the par 72 course at the Rolling Hills Country Club which is 5,922 yards in distance.

Brevard last participated in the Cavalier Spring Invitational hosted by Montreat College, which concluded on March 7.

Kelsie Rhyne and Taylor Scovel took part in the two-day even that was held at Silver Creek Plantation course, was limited to 27 holes due to weather.

Rhyne earned her second top 15 outing of the spring slate as she finished tied with Montreat's Emma Roberts for 13th place. Rhyne (145; +37) was 20 shots off the pace set by individual tournament winner Danielle Bates (Tennessee Wesleyan).

Scovel ended the tournament locked in a tie with Montreat's Sydney Fairchild with a score of 148 (+40), marking her second top 20 outing of the season.
