Seniors Kelsie Rhyne and Courtney Sharp put the finishing touches on their collegiate golf careers this week when they head to the Palmetto state to take part in the Cherokee Valley Women’s Invitational at the Cherokee Valley Country Club in Tigerville, S.C.
Represented by two individuals, Taylor Scovel and Kelsie Rhyne, the Brevard women’s golf team concluded its fourth tournament of the spring on Tuesday afternoon.
After a two-week layoff since their last tournament, the Brevard women’s golf team returns to the links on Monday when it competes in the Wingate Challenge on March 19-20.
Two members of the Brevard women’s golf, Kelsie Rhyne and Taylor Scovel, took part in the Cavalier Spring Invitational, hosted by Montreat College, which concluded on Tuesday afternoon.
The Brevard golf program had three top five finishers in the Mars Hill Invitational that concluded on Tuesday afternoon at the Broadmoor Golf Links. Austin Fisher (second place) and Calum McAndrew (tied-third) represented the men’s team, while Kelsie Rhyne (fifth) was the top women’s player for the Tornados.
Two members of the Brevard men's golf team, Austin Fisher and Calum McAndrew, head to the clubhouse in the top 10 on the leaderboard following the first day of play at the Mars Hill Invitational held at the Broadmoor Golf Club. Kelsie Rhyne is also representing the Tornado women's team on the leaderboard at the close of the first round with a seventh place showing.
Senior Kelsie Rhyne fired a two-day score of 187 (96-91, +43) and finished in 41st to lead the way for the Brevard women’s golf team at the Converse Spring Invite that concluded Tuesday afternoon.
The women’s event is a three-day tournament, beginning on Sunday, Sept. 24, on the Links Hill Country Club course. It is a par 72 event that is 5,910 yards.
The Brevard women’s golf program begins its 2017 slate this weekend when it heads to Spartanburg, S.C. to compete in the Converse Invitational on Sept. 17-19.
