BREVARD, N.C. – After a 4-1 home start and a 5-2 overall start to the 2018-19 season, the Brevard College Tornados Women's Basketball team travels to Decatur, Ga. to square off with Agnes Scott (0-6, 0-1 USAS) on Saturday at 2 p.m. before continuing the trek southward to Montgomery, Ala. to face Huntingdon (6-1, 2-0 USAS) on Sunday at 2 p.m. Action can be followed live by visiting bctornados.com, or following the Tornados on Twitter @BCTornados.

The Tornados are coming off a nail-biting 71-68 defeat at the hands of Maryville (2-5, 2-1 USAS) last Wednesday at the Boshamer Gymnasium in a game that came down to the final possession. Brevard stormed back, using a 10-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter to get itself in position down the stretch.

Deja Riddick led the Tornados' efforts with season-high 15 points while having a perfect 4-of-4 night from the charity stripe. The sophomore out of Norfolk, Va. also grabbed seven rebounds and tallied two steals.

Taryn Ledford, who saw her first action since a 77-61 victory over Berry College on Nov. 15, poured on 14 points, 12 of which came from 3-point shots (4-of-11).

The setback to Maryville was just Brevard's second of the season. The Tornados were off to a program-best 5-1 start which included four-straight victories at home.

Brevard as a team continues to field a high-octane offensive attack. The Tornados are currently tied for first in the USA South in points per game (74.3) while shooting a 33.5% clip from long range, which ranks second.

After Brevard's action-packed weekend, the Tornados will have six days to prepare before hosting the defending USA South Conference tournament champion Piedmont Lions (7-3, 2-0 USAS) on Saturday, December 15 at 2 p.m.
