The Brevard College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce its inaugural BC Athletics Tornado Club Auction. The online silent auction was made available on Monday, August 1 at 8 a.m. and runs until Wednesday, August 21 at 8 a.m., the date of the 11th annual BC Tornados Open held at the Lake Toxaway Country Club.
Briana Clark has been named the new Mars Hill women's basketball head coach, Director of Athletics, Rick Baker announced Thursday morning.
Clark comes to Mars Hill after serving in the head coaching role at Spartanburg Methodist College for the past eight seasons. During her tenure, Clark boasted a .628 winning percentage that included six regular-season Region X titles, five Region X tournament championships, five Region X Player of the Year accolades, and 21 Academic All-Americans. Clark was also named Region X Coach of the Year four times.
Averett University women's basketball head coach Aby Diop announced the addition of assistant coach Annalee Bollinger to the Cougars' program on Monday.
A native of Hickory, North Carolina, Bollinger is no stranger to the USA South Athletic Conference. She had a four-year playing career, including her final three years at fellow USA South member Brevard College after transferring from Division II Saint Joseph's College in Indiana after her freshman season. While at Brevard, Bollinger was a team captain for three years, holds the NCAA-era school record for 3-pointers made and became a member of the 1,000-point club.
The USA South Conference on Friday morning released its annual USA South Academic All-Conference list, selecting 91 Brevard College student-athletes as Academic All-Conference selections. Additionally, 18 student-athletes collected “With Distinction” Academic All-Conference honors, accruing at least a 3.9 grade point average in both the Fall and Spring semesters.

The Brevard College Tornados (6-4, 2-3 USAS) fell in its first exhibition contest of 2018-19 to the USC Upstate Spartans (4-7) on Tuesday evening at the G.B. Hodges Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Tornados put together an incredible effort, hanging around with their NCAA DI counterpart for a majority of the contest.
