Huntingdon Powers Past Brevard on Sunday Afternoon

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Juliette Harp led all players with 23 points and 15 rebounds in the contest to knock off Brevard 85-51 on Sunday afternoon.

Brevard (11-11) suffered their second straight setback in two days, as the team went 19-of-62 (30.6%) from the floor and was outrebounded 49-34. Junior guard Annalee Bollinger led the team in scoring with 13 points.

The Tornados surrendered 80 points for only the fourth time all season, with the Hawks (16-9) shooting 33-of-71 (46.5%) from the floor and had 12 players record at least one point in the contest. Huntingdon also knocked down seven 3-pointers in the game, after going 0-for-5 from downtown the last time these two teams played.

After a jump shot from Alex Lowery to make the score 14-7 at the 1:59 mark in the first quarter, Brevard scored five quick points on a jump shot from Bollinger and a 3-pointer from Kelsie Rhyne to make the score 16-12 with 34 seconds left in the first quarter. Huntingdon would then go on a 27-14 run to end the first half. Ty'She Washington ended the first half on a high-note for Brevard, as she knocked down a 3-point shot at the buzzer to make the score 43-26 at the half.

On the defensive end of the floor for Brevard, Destiny Williams was able to record a steal, marking the 21st game this season she has recorded at least one steal.

Brevard will play their final three games of the season against Pfeiffer, with the first game taking place in Misenheimer on Feb. 17th. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
