Brevard Looks to Avenge Setbacks This Weekend

BREVARD, N.C.- After falling on the road to Maryville on Tuesday night, Brevard women's basketball will look to rebound this weekend against Covenant and Berea.

Brevard (10-7) will play their third set of back-to-back contests this season, games in which Brevard is 3-1 in, with the lone loss coming against Covenant on the road on Dec. 2nd, 2017. In the three wins, the Tornados have held their opponents under 50 points each time.

In Brevard's last game against Maryville, the Tornados made more field goals (25-20) and had more points in the paint (34-24) than the Scots, but Maryville knocked down 24-of-33 from the foul line compared to just 7-of-10 in the 70-63 setback.

The Tornados will return to the friendly confines of Boshamer Gymnasium this weekend where the team is 5-1 on the season. Brevard has averaged 69.3 points on offense while allowing an average of 58.7 points per contest, which includes three games in which the defense allowed less than 50 points.

Bollinger has also reached the 20-point mark in scoring on six occasions during the 2017-18 campaign. Senior forward Whitney DeMoss leads the team with 8.6 rebounds per game, and will be in the lineup this time around against Covenant, as she did not play in the first meeting between the schools this season.

In the previous game between Covenant and Brevard, the Scots won 77-66 on their home floor back in December. Berea (15-3) had their 11-game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon at home in a 79-70 loss to Piedmont, but still remain one of the top teams in the USA South Conference.
