Brevard Hits Road for Rematch with Maryville

BREVARD, N.C.- Following their 80-62 win over LaGrange on Saturday, Brevard will look to build momentum in a rematch on the road against Maryville on Tuesday night.

Brevard (10-6) bounced back following its setback to Piedmont on Jan. 23rd, by connecting on a season-high 13 3-pointers and forcing 16 turnovers on defense against LaGrange last Saturday afternoon in Boshamer Gymnasium.

The game against Maryville will be the first time the two teams have met since Nov. 29th, 2017 when the Scots came away with a 92-75 win over the Tornados in Brevard. In the game, Maryville went 27-of-57 (47.4%) from the field and 29-of-33 from the free throw line, compared to just 5-of-10 from the charity stripe by Brevard.

Since that loss Brevard has gone 9-3, including 6-0 in games where the Tornados hold their opponents under 50 points.

With her 22-point performance against LaGrange, junior guard Annalee Bollinger moved inside the top 10 in the USA South Conference in points per game, averaging 15.4 on the season. Senior forward Whitney DeMoss continues to lead the team with 8.6 rebounds per game, and has been the top rebounder in 10 of Brevard's 16 games on the 2017-18 campaign.

Maryville (13-8) enters the game winning 12 of their past 14 contests, with their most recent outing resulting in a 75-61 win over LaGrange on Sunday. The Scots are led on offense by seniors Madison Maples and Rachel Hawn, who lead the team with 16.0 and 12.4 points per game, respectively.
