Brevard Looks to Extend Winning Streak at William Peace

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard women's basketball will take their two-game winning streak on the road Wednesday evening as they travel to Raleigh to take on William Peace at 6 p.m.

The Tornados (6-5) head into the game after winning two games in two days over the weekend, and holding both of their opponents (Agnes Scott and Huntingdon) to under 50 points in those wins. Brevard also had a balanced offense in those games, as 10 out of 11 players made at least one field goal against Agnes Scott, and all nine players who entered the game against Huntingdon scored at least one point.

In the game against Agnes Scott, junior Annalee Bollinger led the team with 11 points, which included knocking down three 3-pointers, while dishing out five assists. The next day against Huntingdon, freshman Ty'She Washington provided a spark off the bench by leading the team with 12 points by shooting 4-of-6 from the floor and converting 3-of-4 from the foul line.

On the defensive end of the floor in those two games, freshman Destiny Williams combined for nine steals, and senior Whitney DeMoss averaged 10.5 rebounds over the weekend.

William Peace (2-7) comes into the game having lost two out of their three games in the month of January, with their only win coming against Mary Baldwin on January 6th. In their most recent game, the Pacers lost 101-66 on the road to Averett.

The Pacers have four players averaging double-digit points on the season, with Mikayla Ray leading the team with 19 points per game. Ray has scored 30 or more points in two games this season, which includes the most recent game in the loss to Averett.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools since Brevard moved to the NCAA ranks in the 2007-08 athletic year.
