Tornados Post Double-Digit Win Over Agnes Scott, 57-43

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard used a balanced offensive attack, as 10 of the 11 players for the Tornados scored at least two points, to take down Agnes Scott 57-43 on Saturday afternoon.

Annalee Bollinger led Brevard in scoring with 11 points on the day, as she shot 4-of-12 from the floor with three 3-pointers, leading the team in those categories.

The Tornados (5-5) also played stifling defense throughout the game, forcing 30 turnovers while scoring 21 points off of those turnovers from the Scotties.

As a team, Brevard notched a season-high 20 assists in the win, with Bollinger leading the way in that category with a total of five assists in the game.

For Agnes Scott (1-12), Garis Grant led all scorers with 16 points, shooting 5-of-12 from the floor as she knocked down six free throws.

Brevard also controlled the points in the paint (28-18), with Whitney DeMoss tied a game-high three offensive rebounds, while also scoring seven points and recorded seven total rebounds over the course of the game.

The Tornados were able to obtain the largest lead of the game at 24 points, when Ty'She Washington knocked down a layup at the 1:20 mark in the third quarter, when Brevard went on a 13-2 run leading to the basket from Washington.

The Tornados played tough defense in the first half, forcing 17 turnovers while scoring 13 points off of the Scotties' miscues. Destiny Williams led the charge on the defensive end of the floor, recording four steals and two defensive rebounds.

Bollinger led the first half scoring for both teams with eight points, going 3-of-8 from the floor while knocking down two 3-pointers.

This game marks the third time this season in which the Tornado defense held their opponent under 50 points.

Brevard will have a short rest heading into their next game, as they take on Huntingdon tomorrow at Boshamer Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
