LIVE STATS

BREVARD, N.C. –
The Brevard women's basketball team begins its 2017-18 schedule on Wednesday when the team heads to Berry for a 6 p.m. clash with the Vikings.

It is the first of four November contests for the Tornados, who take to the road to play Berea on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., before making a trek to Emory & Henry (Nov. 21).

Brevard makes its home debut against Maryville on Nov. 29, marking one of only two appearances at Boshamer Gym in the calendar year. The second comes on December 28th, when Brevard hosts St. Andrew's, before heading to Cullowhee to face Western Carolina on Dec. 31.

Among the top returnees this year for the Tornados, who capped off the 2016-17 season with a 6-20 mark, is Annalee Bollinger. Last season, Bollinger ranked among the team's top three statistical leaders in 16 major categories including minutes (926-2nd), field goals made (110-2nd), 3-point field goals made (73-1st), 3-point field goal percentage (.415-1st), free throws made (24-3rd), free throw percentage (.889-2nd), assists (56-2nd), steals (17-3rd), points (317-2nd) and points per game (12.2-2nd).

One of only three Tornados to start in each of the 26 games last season, Bollinger topped double figures in scoring on 16 occasions. She managed three 20-point outings on the season, including a season-high 26 points at Tusculum (Jan. 25).

Brevard Head Coach Donald Hudson will also have Kelsie Rhyne, Jade Napier and Whitney DeMoss in the lineup for their senior campaigns. Rhyne, who returns to the court after suffering an ACL tear on Jan. 21 against Lenoir-Rhyne, contributed 91 points (5.7 ppg.) in 16 starts last season. Her best single-game performance came against Bob Jones (Nov. 15) when she tallied 13 points and 12 rebounds (seven offensive rebounds).

Napier, in her first year at Brevard, played 10 games and made seven starts as she knocked down five 3-pointers and handed out 27 assists a season ago. One of her best outings of the season came against Winston-Salem State and LaGrange, where she forced three steals.

DeMoss, a two-sport athlete who also competes for the volleyball team, played seven games over the course of the 2016-17 season, finishing with 46 rebounds (12 offensive) and 40 points. She grabbed at least five rebounds in five of the contests, including a season-high 10 boards (five offensive) against Anderson (Feb. 15). DeMoss capped off her outing against the Trojans by scoring 12 points, after hitting 4-of-12 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free throw line, to complete the double-double.
