Hudson Releases 2017-18 Women’s Basketball Slate

2017-18 Women's Basketball Schedule

BREVARD, N.C. –
Brevard head coach Donald Hudson announced the 2017-18 women's basketball schedule on Tuesday. The slate features 10 home games and meeting with Western Carolina.

The Tornados' season tips off on the road at Berry on Nov. 15, followed by a series of away games against Berea (Nov. 18) and Emory & Henry (Nov. 21).

Brevard makes its home debut against Maryville on Nov. 29, marking their lone appearance at Boshamer Gym in the calendar year. The Tornados play the entire month of December away from home, however the game in Cullowhee versus Western Carolina gives fans an opportunity to see the Tornados in person on Dec. 31.

"We're excited to begin a new chapter in Brevard College women's basketball history," said Hudson. "Entering a new conference will come with many challenges, but with those challenges come the opportunity to do some special things. We have a nice mix of returners and freshmen. Our returners have played a ton of minutes and have great experience playing at the college level. We will lean on them heavily to help with our young core. Our incoming freshmen will be counted on to contribute early and often. We look forward to taking the floor every game and competing at a high level."

January features four home contests for the Tornados, including clashes with USA South Conference foes Agnes Scott (Jan. 6), Huntingdon (Jan. 7), Wesleyan (Jan. 13) and LaGrange (Jan. 27).

February will feature five home games for Brevard, who opens the month against Covenant (Feb. 2) at Boshamer Gym. One day later, the Tornados clash with Berea, before facing Piedmont (Feb. 7) and Pfeiffer on two occasions at home on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24, respectively.
