ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Track & Field team competed in the Adidas/Winthrop Invitational in Friday and Saturday, hosted by NCAA DI Winthrop University.

BC saw personal improvement in its events this past weekend, as several Tornados improved on their performances in their last event at the Lenoir-Rhyne Southside Power & Fitness Invitational.

Jamerial Parks highlighted BC in sprint events, finishing in the top-25 in the men's 100-meter dash that featured a highly-competitive field of 91 participants, with a majority being from NCAA DI institutions. Parks ran the 100-meter in 10.97, which was a significant improvement from the 11.49 that he ran in Hickory, N.C. last weekend.

CJ Walton ran the 100-meter dash in 11.08, which was .23 faster than the 11.31 he recorded last weekend.

Brevard freshman Gavin Morgan also improved in the Adidas/Winthrop Invitational. Morgan ran the 1500 meter run in 4:23.33 compared to the 4:26.25 that he ran last weekend. This time earned Morgan an 11th-place finish, which was higher than numerous NCAA DI and DII participants.

On the women's side, Ashley Jones posted a solid performance in the shot put amidst tough competition. Shakirah Thompson competed in both the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash.

The Tornados will return to action next weekend as they head to Montreat, N.C. for the Montreat Invitational on Saturday, March 30.
