COMPLETE ADIDAS WINTHROP INVITATIONAL RESULTS
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Hassan Kiprono and Gabriel Covington posted a pair of top 30 finishes for the Brevard track & field team to highlight team's performance at the Adidas Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
Kiprono finished 21st in both the 1500 meter (4:20.34) and 5000 meter (15:44.71) races. Meanwhile, Covington came through with solid outings in the shot put, where he finished 25th, and the discus, which resulted in a 28th place showing.
Brevard also collected three top 25 finishes in the men's 1500 developmental race, with Michael Anton leading the way with a 13th place outing in a time of 4:33.39. He was joined by teammates George Dowis (4:56.32) and Michael Terry (5:54.84), who finished 19th and 25th, respectively.
The top team performance for the Tornados was a 12th place outing (45.62) by the men's 4x100 meter relay unit that is composed of Quentin Jackson, Dylan Bradley, Martigus Henley and Ke'Vel Kingsberry.
Dylan Bradley wrapped up the three-day event with a 35th place finish in the 100 meter dash (11.35) and a 43rd place outing in the 200 meter dash (23.65).
Shakirah Thompson was the top women's finisher for the Tornados, crossing the line 39th in the 400 meter dash (1:07.48). She also finished 57th in the 200 meter dash (28.58).
Along with the 4x100 meter event, Jackson also made his presence felt for the Tornados in the 200 meter dash (23.61) and the 100 meter dash (11.51), finishing 41st and 42nd, respectively.
Kingsberry also took part in the 100 meter dash (12.00) and the 200 meter dash (25.26), garnering 53rd and 56th place finishes. Henley was also a participant in the 200 meter dash (24.67) and the 100 meters race (12.09), closing the events 53rd and 57th, respectively.
The Tornados return to action next weekend when they take part in the Montreat Invitational on March 30-31 in Black Mountain, N.C.
