Brevard Softball Concludes Season at Erskine

BREVARD, N.C. – After splitting the home finale on Thursday afternoon with North Greenville, which resulted in a 2-1 game one victory by the Tornados, the Brevard softball team puts the finishing touches on its season Saturday in Due West, S.C., when they take on Erskine at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The Tornados, who have won three of their last four games, enter the final two games of the season with an 11-17 mark that includes a 4-6 road record.

Freshman Teegan Bullock has made an impact on the Brevard lineup in her first season, topping the team in batting average (.397—min. 40 at-bats), connecting on 29 hits and scoring 18 runs along the way. Teammate Emily White leads the way with hits (30), RBI (19) and doubles (eight).

Ricki Kuhn leads the way on the mound with seven wins, 85.2 innings pitched and a 3.84 ERA. She recently picked up her first save of the season as Breanna Allen earned her fourth win of the slate.

Erskine (25-15) has won its last three games, sweeping Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon by scores of 6-0 and 3-1. The Flying Fleet also picked up a win in the second game (6-1) of a doubleheader on April 14 against Lees-McRae.

The Flying Fleet have four players with at least 25 at-bats hitting .300 on the season, including Reagan Davis who leads the way with a .364 batting average that includes 43 hits, 13 doubles and 15 RBI. Brittany Rhinehardt (.346 batting average) tops the Erskine lineup in hits (46), while Sydney Smith leads the way in RBI (36).

Morgan Hendrix (12-5) is the top pitcher on the Erskine staff, making 140 strikeouts in 125 innings pitched. She has limited opponents to 31 earned runs, 33 walks en route to a 1.74 ERA. Hannah Houge (9-5) has also proved to be a key member of the pitching staff, converting 61 strikeouts in 83.1 innings pitched.
