Brevard Falls in Doubleheader Sweep

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.- Brevard softball had its four-game winning streak snapped on the road against Covenant in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon.

Brevard (5-5) was able to take a 1-0 lead in the third inning of the first game by way of a home run from Brittan Miller, her first homer of the season. Breanna Allen got the start on the mound, as she pitched a complete game and allowed two runs on seven hits in the game. However, Covenant (14-16) was able to score a run in the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead, ultimately coming away with the 2-1 win.

In the second game, the Scots got off to a fast start as they put up seven runs in the first three innings, highlighted by two RBI doubles from Shade Epes in the first and third innings. The Tornados were able to get on the board in the fifth inning, coming from a sacrifice fly by Jordan Hawk to score Teegan Bullock. The pitching combination of Ricki Kuhn and Elizabeth Traxler threw for two strikeouts and allowed only two runs in the second game.

Later in the game, Brevard scored again on a RBI double from Miller which brought home Bullock for the second time in the game. However, Covenant was able to come away with their second win of the day, 8-2.
