Climbing Set to Host Third-Annual Boulder Bash at the Brevard Rock Gym

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College Tornados Climbing team returns to action this Saturday as it hosts the Third-Annual Boulder Bash, BC's Spring home event, at the Brevard Rock Gym in downtown Brevard, N.C., located on 240 South Broad Street.

Registration for the competition is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, with the competition taking place from 2-5 p.m. The price for competing is $20, and a USA Climbing Collegiate or Individual membership is required.

The Tornados return to action following a competitive week at Western Carolina's USA Climbing Collegiate Local event held last Saturday.

Madison Altman once again led BC with a sixth-place finish in the women's competition after accumulating 13,400 points.  Altman completed three of her five climbs in one attempt while completing her other two climbs in two attempts.

Brevard College's Danielle Brown placed 19th to round out BC women's side performers with 5,800 total points.

Jake Roberts was the top finishing Brevard College men's climber with a 13th Place result after totaling 14,000 points. Roberts successfully completed four of his five attempts on the afternoon.

Saturday's event marks the third-straight year that Brevard College has hosted a Spring competition. The Third-Annual Boulder Bash is BC's second home event of the 2018-19 season, as the Tornados hosted their inaugural Fall competition on October 29, 2018.

After BC's Spring home event, the Tornados will gear up for the USA Climbing Collegiate Appalachian Regional Championship in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday, March 30.
