BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Climbing team returns to action for the front end of back-to-back competition weekends as they head to Western Carolina University to take part in a USA Climbing Collegiate Local in Cullowhee, N.C. at the Campus Recreational Center on Saturday.

The BC Climbing team was last in action at the Tennessee Bouldering Authority Collegiate Competition in Chattanooga, Tenn., where Madison Altman and Danielle Brown picked up a pair of top-5 finishes for BC.

Altman has continued to rack up impressive finishes in competition in her first season. The freshman from Newnan, Georgia won the Wake Forest Collegiate Competition last November, finished second in her collegiate debut at the Brevard Fall Competition, and earned second place in Chattanooga.

Brown earned her first top-five finish in the 2018-19 season, tallying Brown 5,500 points in Chattanooga, as she completed three of her five climbs in just one attempt.

On the men's side, Carlton Angell, Taylor Everard, and Nathan Boepple all placed inside of the top-15 in Chattanooga.

Brevard Climbing hosts its second home event of the 2018-19 season as the Tornados host the third-annual "Boulder Bash" at the Brevard Rock Gym on Saturday, February 23.
