Covenant Sweeps Brevard in Conference Action

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's tennis team (1-5, 1-3 USAS) fell, 9-0, to Covenant College (8-4, 4-0 USAS) on Friday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex on the campus of Brevard College.

The Scots claimed six matches by decision, with three match victories coming by default.

Brevard's top-flight doubles duo of Ethan McGee and Devin Horton produced the closest match of the afternoon, taking Covenant's number-one duo of Solomon Crouch and Austin Dreslinski to the brink in an 8-5 defeat. The Scots swept the second doubles match and won match number three by default to take the early 3-0 match lead.

McGee took a pair of games in the first set vs. his number-one singles opponent Cameron Cortman, eventually falling in the second set. Alex Glaze won three total games in number four singles, with Horton claiming a game in number-two singles.

The Tornados are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 10 when Brevard takes on Maryville College in Maryville Tennessee at 1 p.m.
