Hawks Upend Tornados Men’s Tennis, 6-3

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Senior Tim Hengst and freshman Tyler Frazee once again enjoyed an undefeated day individually for the Brevard College Tornados Men's Tennis team (6-11, 4-7 USAS) in a 6-3 team defeat to the Huntingdon Hawks (8-10, 4-7 USAS) on Saturday afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama. 

Opening up doubles action, Hengst and Frazee teamed up for an 8-4 triumph in the no. 1 spot for the Tornados. Huntingdon took a 4-8 decision in no. 2 doubles in addition to a win in no. 3 doubles by default to hold a 2-1 advantage after doubles play. 

Hengst, a senior from Menden, Germany, claimed a dominating victory in his no. 1 singles match, winning 6-1, 6-0. 

Frazee also earned BC a singles point with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in his match. 

Both Hengst and Frazee have recorded 13 singles victories in consecutive fashion. 

The Hawks swept through no. 3 singles while taking both no. 5 and no. 6 singles by default. 

Freshman Andrew Ingram battled hard through his no. 4 singles bout, falling narrowly, 4-6, in the first set before being upended, 1-6, in the second set. 

The BC Men's Tennis team will conclude its regular season at home. The Tornados return to the McCoy Tennis Complex to face the USA South West Division-leading Piedmont College Lions (13-5, 10-0 USAS) on Tuesday, April 16 at 3 p.m.
