Hengst, Frazee Continue Streaks on Friday in LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. - Moving up a spot in rotation, senior Tim Hengst and freshman Tyler Frazee continued their respective singles win streaks on the road on Friday afternoon, as the LaGrange Panthers took a 6-3 final against the Brevard College Tornados Men's Tennis team (6-10, 4-6 USAS) in USA South action. 

Hengst, playing number-one singles on Friday, defeated LaGrange's Will Thompson in a tight, 6-4, 6-4 decision. The Tornado senior from Menden, Germany has now won 12 singles matches in a row. 

Frazee, a three-time USA South Rookie of the Week selection, earned a close three-set victory over LaGrange's John Benton in the number-two singles spot. Frazee won set one, 6-4 before Benton stormed back for a 2-6 decision in the second set. In the third set tiebreaker, Frazee battled and earned a hard-fought 10-7 win to extend his singles win streak to 12 matches. 

Hengst and Frazee teamed up to capture a no. 1 doubles victory, 8-6, over the Panthers' Benton and Kyle Kelley. 

LaGrange claimed victories in no. 2 doubles, no. 3 singles, and no. 4 singles, while capturing no. 3 doubles, no. 5 singles, and no. 6 singles by default over a Tornado side fielding four players on Friday. 

BC concludes its two-match road trip tomorrow in Montgomery, Ala. when it takes on the Huntingdon Hawks (6-9, 3-6 USAS) at 12:30 p.m. ET.
