Tornados Set Sights on Piedmont

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard tennis teams return to the road on Tuesday afternoon, looking to avenge a pair of losses to Piedmont when the two teams clash in Demorest, Ga., at 2 p.m.

Piedmont's men's tennis team claimed a 9-0 victory over the Tornados, while the Lions' women's team emerged with an 8-1 win on Feb. 27th.

The Piedmont College men's tennis team was clicking on all cylinders in its 9-0 victory over Brevard, while the women's surrendered just one point, a doubles team wine by the tandem of Mekenzie Bowman and Margaret Correll.

However, Brevard's men's unit has laid claim to four wins since that point, posting a recent 6-3 victory against Huntingdon on Saturday, March 31st.

The Tornado women posted back-to-back wins over Wesleyan (March 24) and Maryville (March 28) as they look to close out the season on a positive note.

Piedmont's men's team has won five of their last six matches with the only setback (6-3) coming at the hands of Covenant on March 28th.

The women's team has won nine straight matches, beginning the streak against the Tornados on Feb. 27th.
